New Bluehorses cd Thirteen Fires

With the last Bluehorses release in 2004 (The Skyclad EP) the new album has finally been released. I can’t count the number of people who have asked about it at our gigs over the past few years so it was eagerly anticipated.
“Thirteen Fires” marks a clear departure from the bands traditional folk roots, with heavier guitar riffs provided by Jay MacDonald, more up tempo and more foot stomping than many previous offerings. Lizzie Prendegast once again pulls out all the stops with some terrific violin melodies that will send a tingle down anyones spine, most noticable for me was the haunting violin melody on “Chant”.
The Xmas gigs saw Jay MacDonald swapping from guitar to bass with Lyndon “Wild Pussy” Price from Redrock Studios on guitar. I had the grand title of “stage technician” for the gigs!
