New sites and EE2.0 Beta update

Wow, these last few months have flown by, my last blog post being last August. So why the two month gap?

New sites

At the time of writing I’ve got six sites in the pipeline, two of which have recently gone live. Rakish Heels is a new recently launched ecommerce site based on my faithful Jshop Server shopping cart, and Memory Box Productions is a new site for a professional filming company who have worked for the likes of Channel4 and Discover Channel.

Obviously I can’t divulge the details of the other sites I’ve been working on at this time, but they’ll be published to my portfolio in due course!

Expressionengine 2.0 Beta

As you may or may not know I have been actively participating in the Beta trials for the all new EE2.0. The Beta testing period has now entered it’s second phase where new testers have been brought on board and things are really starting to take shape. Ellislab (the EE developers) have promised an announcement on possible release date at the end of October 2009.

Beta testing is all about finding bugs and errors in the software, then fixing them. To the layman saying that software has bugs and faults actually sounds far worse than it is - all software has “bugs” - but testing aims to eradicate them, humourously called “squashing bugs”.
